Winter Rec is for boys and girls aged U5-U8.
2018-19 Winter Session 1 runs from October 29, 2018 to December 15, 2018. No practice on Thanksgiving weekend.
2018-19 Winter Session 2 runs from January 5, 2019 thru February 16, 2019.
Sessions are held in the Fieldhouse at HealthEast Sports Center; it is climate controlled but we recommend players dress in layers.
The format is pool training and games run by Salvo staff coaches. Pool play means there are no fixed teams.

Each session will begin at the specified time. We only have the field during those hours. We ask for your help in keeping players back from the field so we can respect other patrons of HealthEast Sports Center.
The players will step on to the field. Have them bring their soccer ball and water bottle. We will split them in to groups and send them to a field with one of our trainers.
Parents and spectators can set up around the outside of the field. Please keep the space between fields clear for players and coaches to move and work.
When our time is up please clear the field for the next group. As you exit the field please use the space around the field to leave the field house.

The Winter (and Summer) Rec programs provide t-shirts to the registered players. The t-shirts should be worn for each session. Shin guards and soccer socks worn over the shin guards are mandatory, sock color is unimportant. Shorts or running pants can be left to the discretion of families. Shoes are also left to the discretion of families. Players may wear gym shoes, outdoor soccer cleats or indoor soccer cleats.
Players should bring their own ball (U5-U8 Size 3) and a water bottle.

You might chuckle at this video but ask open ended questions of your child about their soccer experience and it will be very revealing.

Many of our children will not view their experience the same way we do so ask questions that let your child talk about what just happened and share in their excitement.
